QHow do I navigate around the map?

AThere are a number of ways to navigate around the Earths surface. Looking at the top left corner of the map view you can see four directional arrows, these buttons will pan the map around in the required direction when they are pressed. The center button of these four will return the map to the original map view when it is pressed. The vertical slider control located underneath the pan and center controls will zoom the current view in and out, the plus button will increase the zoom level and the minus button will decrease the zoom level of the map.

You can also quickly move around the Earths surface by clicking and holding the left mouse button anywhere on the maps surface, whilst you are still holding the mouse button depressed you can drag the map around in the required direction.

QHow do I add a measurement marker to the Earths surface?

AYou can add a measurement marker to the Earths surface by simply clicking the left mouse button over the location where you would like to place the measurement marker. If you successfully place a marker a flag will be added to the maps surface where you clicked with a number on it. The number represents the step in your journey that this flag is. Measurements between markers/flags can be seen on the chart at the bottom of the screen, this will appear once you have placed at least two measurement markers on the earths surface.

QHow do I remove a measurement marker from the Earths surface?

AYou can remove a measurement marker from the Earths surface by moving your mouse over to the top left hand side of the map. A panel will slide out, on this panel is a button labeled 'remove last marker', if you press this button it will remove the last placed measurement marker on the map of the Earths surface. You can then continue placing measurement markers on the Earths surface or you can repeatedly remove the measurement markers one by one by pressing the button again and again.

QHow do I remove all measurement markers in one go.

AYou can remove all measurement markers from the Earths surface by moving your mouse over to the top left hand side of the map. A panel will slide out, on this panel is a button labeled 'remove all markers', if you press this button it will remove all measurement markers on the Earths surface.

QWhere can I see the distances calculated?

AOnce you have added at least two measurement markers to the Earths surface you will be able to see the distance between them in the chart at the bottom of the screen. Each step in the journey will be represented here as a bar in the distance chart. The distance for each individual step can be seen from the vertical axis, the horizontal axis represents the individual steps in the overall journey. The total distance covered can also be read from this chart, this total measurement is shown both in Km and Miles and can be seen at the right of the chart.

QCan I search for a location by address?

AYes, if you move the mouse over to the top left hand side of your map a panel will slide out, from here you can type an address, state, country or postcode. Once you have typed in your desired address and hit the go button the map will center and re-zoom to the location specified. If we couldn't find the address a message will appear saying that we couldn't find your address. If your address is not found we would recommend broadening the address to maybe a city/suburb and state, you can then locate the specific address yourself.

QCan I see elevation information about my measurements?

ANo unfortunately elavation/altitude information is not currently available on Google maps, so we cannot provide this information about the steps in your journey.
